We are back and we’re on the subject of garage floor tiles once again (big surprise). Today we will take another look at some of the garage tile options that are out there and later on we will start to go into more detail on the various flooring choices.

Why are garge tiles even useful? Well, as you have experience garage floors are not an attractive part of most homes. It is usually a stained, blotchy grey with various small cracks, imperfections, and in general ugly. If you don’t do anything about it, then it will not only always look bad but continue to get worse as new stains develop and soak into the porous surface because concrete garage floors are like a big sponge. Adding tiles to your garage will give you the ability to really make the room look better as well as easier to clean while hiding the imperfections.
Garage Flooring Tiles
There are many types of tiles that can be used on the garage floor and they range from simple installation to more than the average DIY person would like to handle. So it is important to head to your local hardware stores and see exactly what is out there to work with and make sure that you follow the manufacturers installation directions to the letter to make sure that there will be no problems in the future and everything is covered under the warranty.
Garage Floor Ceramic Tile
This type of tile for your garage is the kind that requires the most work as you will need to make sure the surface is smooth and lever (difficult if you have major cracks) as well as work with mortar and grout to affix the tile to the garage floor. The benefit is that ceramic tile is strong and attractive and there are many options of tiles to choose from.
Garage Floor Interlocking Tile
Interlocking tile is easy to install and has all the benefits of ceramic tile, which are its strength and several choices of colors and styles. They are a great way to cover your garage floor without having to worry about making a mistake because they can easily be pulled up and reinstalled if necessary. In addition, a cracked or broken tile can more easily be replaced than a ceramic one that is imbedded in mortar and grout.
Vinyl Garage Floor Tile
This has the easiest installation as it is as simple as peel and stick tile, but it does not have the strength or the other solid tiles and can more easily tear. As a quick and effective garage floor covering, it works great and is easy to clean, but replacing torn tiles can be difficult depending on the strength of the glue.
